American HealthGuard was founded in 1982 by a practicing dentist in order to develop products and solutions to better serve his patients.

American HealthGuard became a licensed Knox-Keene Dental Health Maintenance Organization in September 1984 in order to expand its services to the greater number of independent dentists. Since that time, we have taken the approach of partnering with our providers to offer the best possible care that can be delivered.

AHG is also one of the approved providers for the Medi-Cal Managed Care programs for Los Angeles County (LAPHP). With over a quarter century of Pre-Paid Dental experience AHG has been out in the community making sure that all Southern Californians have the right to receive high quality, low cost Dental care.
